Yoo guys, welcome back. So just finished reading book 3,4 and 5 and here's the book review for Book 3. Lets goo.....
Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse
So, Percy, Annabeth and Thalia are in the car, on the way to Westover Hall( a school) for a rescue operation cause Grover found two new half-bloods, Bianca Di Angelo (12) and Nico Di Angelo (10). Since they were at a school dance, there were a lot of monsters, lurking around, ready to pounce at them any moment. But first they had to pass a man, Dr Thorn so they put the Mist over them. So while the 4 pretended to dance, Percy suddenly saw Dr Thorn taking Bianca and Nico away, so he decided to follow them. He found out that Dr Thorn was a monster! He took the 3 into the woods telling them that he was summoning a ride for the Di Angelo kids. Then Annabeth, Thalia and Grover appeared, Annabeth, with her cap of invisibility, pushed Percy and Di Angelo kids so Dr Thorn would be distracted. Soon he showed his true form...a Half-Lion Half-Human monster! He was working for Kronos, King of the Titans, AKA the evil guy. In the combat, Annabeth fell of the cliff! Then, The Hunters appeared. The Hunters are led by Goddess Artemis, the goddess of Hunt and Moon. Only women can join and if you do, you get immortality, but you should never fall in love or else the oath would be broken.
After the fight, Percy, for instance, wanted to go find Annabeth. But he, Thalia and Grover camped with the hunters until they would get a ride. Lady Artemis invited Bianca to join the Hunt, who joined cause she wanted to finally know how freedom felt like, to feel how it would be not to be a sister to Nico anymore. Nico, who knew all about Greek Mythology, was happy to go back to camp. Artemis asked her twin brother, Apollo, God of Poetry, Archery and Sun to give her hunters and the other 4 a ride back to Camp Half-Blood, while she goes on a mission to find a deadly creature which Kronos wants to find.
Apollo took them to camp, so then the Hunters settled in Cabin 8 ( Artemis's cabin which is usually empty cause she's a maiden). During Percy's dream, he saw Artemis trapped somewhere, along with Annabeth. He went to the Big House and explained everything to Chiron and Dionysus. Later, campers played Capture the Flag against the Hunters, while Percy and Thalia co-captained. After the Hunters won, Percy and Thalia got into a huge fight! Since Thalia is the daughter of Zeus, she send lightning at Percy while Percy, being the son of Poseidon, willed the ocean currents at Thalia, making her wet, head to toe. the Oracle, which gives out prophecies, came to the river and asked Zoe, the temporary leader of the Hunters, to come forward and ask a question. Zoe asked where she could find her leader, Artemis. The Oracle gave the prophecy :
Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan's Curse one must withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand.
After so arguing, they came up with a team of 4. Zoe, Bianca, Thalia and Grover. Percy tried to convince them to let him come too but Zoe did not want to go with a male hero. SO off they went, on a quest, without Percy. But Percy did not give up. He needed to find his friend Annabeth. ( BTW Percy's fatal flaw is his Personal Loyalty). He called his Pegasus, Blackjack, whom he rescued from the Andromeda ship last year. He asked him to follow the 4. They ended up at a Air and Space Museum. Soon, Percy found Dr Thorn, Luke and The General talking about a plan for Kronos. The monsters smelled Percy out and started to attack. Percy then bumped into Thalia and started fighting with them. He because part of the quest and soon they fought a lot of people, lost Bianca in the desert (one shall be lost in the land without rain) , went to Hoover Dam, where Percy meets a mortal who can see through the mist, Rachel Elisabeth Dare, until they found out where the goddess was. She was at Mount Othrys. After they reached, they found out that Atlas was the General. He was also Zoe's dad! After the battle, they lost Zoe (one shall perish by a parent's hand), Percy held the sky (The Titan's Curse on must withstand). Artemis put Zoe up in the sky as a constellation as an honor to the huntress.
After that, they went up to Zeus's castle, where all the gods and goddesses were seated. Thats when they all voted whether or not to kill Percy and Thalia. Sooner, Artemis asked Thalia to join the Hunt, which she accepted. They were having a great time until Nico found out . Percy took Nico out for a walk to break the news that his sister was dead. After Nico found out, he was furious that Percy didn't protect her like he said he would. After that, skeletons came after them, but when Nico told them go away, the ground opened up and swallowed them with a crunch. That's when Percy realized. Nico was the son of Hades. Hades, the Lord of the Dead, God of the Underworld. Nico was his son.
